About Gent Fire Alarms
Established in Leicester in 1872, Gent formerly manufactured clocks, however they created their first heat detection system in the 1800s, and fire alarm systems in the 1970s. They have since gone from strength to strength within the fire safety industry, and celebrated their 150th anniversary in 2022.

Analogue Addressable Panels
Vigilon Plus Control Panel
Gent’s Vigilon Control Panels are amongst the best available on the market today. Suitable for buildings of any size, the Vigilon Plus panel is available in 3 sizes – 2, 4, or 6 loops – each accommodating up to 200 devices.
Key Features:
- The 2 & 4 loop panels have integrated 24hr standby.
- The 6 loop panel has 72hr standby with external batteries.
- Advanced sensing technology and powerful software processing can quickly identify fires.
- Extended event log using flash memory card.
- The control panel has a simpler user interface with LCD screen providing accurate information in an emergency.
Analogue Addressable Devices
S-Quad Sensor & Sensor Sounder
“A comprehensive range combining sensor sounder and voice in one multifunctional device.”
Key Features:
- Complete range of sensors with combinations of advanced sensing technologies – heat, dual angle optical scatter and carbon monoxide (CD).
- Combined sensing means higher level of false alarm immunity in presence of steam and while still maintaining the integrity of detecting fires.
- Each sensor has certified sensitivity settings that suit certain environments / applications and may be programmed for different times of the day if required.
- Short circuit isolator in each device.
- Configurable input/output connection for remote indicator or supervisory input fully synchronised sound patterns via the control panel.
- Sensor sounders have adjustable sound level and tones to match system sounders.
- Sounder element monitoring and over-load protection to ensure operation even in event of cable fault.
- Sound output synchronised and compatible with S-Quad range of EN54-23 VAD.
S-Cubed Sounder
S-Cubed offers an intelligent range of loop powered alarm sounders with integrated voice and EN54-23 certified visual alarms. Combined with flexible configuration from the fire control panels, the S-Cubed Sounder can give a differentiated combination of audible and visual alarms for alert and general evacuation.
Conventional Panel
Gent offer fire detection systems that are suitable for a variety of budgets and accommodate buildings of different sizes. The Xenex control panel is one of the most cost-effective fire safety solutions.
Xenex Panel
“The Xenex conventional fire detection and alarm system from Gent provides owners of small building premises with quality protection equipment at an economical price.”
Key Features:
- Xenex deploys devices on conventional radial wiring layouts using standard 2-core cable.
- Device options include a full range of smoke detectors (optical, beam and duct types), heat detectors (fixed temperature or rate of rise types), sounders, strobes and bells.
- Sounder options include shallow base, deep base and bedhead sounder types.
- For installations where a high degree of weatherproofing is required, IP55 rated sounders, sirens and bells are available.
- Common accessories such as manual call points (standard IP54 rated or key operated anti-vandal types, available as either surface mounted or flush-fitted models), door release units and Xenon flashers can all be accommodated.
- Spare test keys (for testing manual call points without breaking the glass),spare glasses (packs of 10) and False alarm verification feature to filter out false alarms is selectable through software.
