Top Sponsors Power Platform’s 200 Mile Charity Ride For NSPCC

May 23, 2025

Four key partner organisations have each committed £1000 in sponsorship to support Platform Housing Group’s Charity Bike Ride in aid of the NSPCC, raising a total of £5000 to date towards this vital cause.

The two day ride, taking place on 18 and 19 June this year, will see Platform colleagues cycle 200 miles across the Midlands to raise funds for the children’s charity.  The event is part of the Group’s ongoing commitment to supporting the NSPCC as its corporate charity partner.

The official main kit sponsors are:

  • Warwickshire based construction company Hardyman;
  • South Yorkshire based Equans, a provider of sustainable facilities management and regeneration.
  • Midlands based Sunfish Services, fire alarm and security specialists;
  • Law firm Browne Jacobson LLP, with offices nationwide.

All of them will feature on the riders’ jerseys and are helping to drive both awareness and fundraising for the challenge.

Gerraint Oakley, Chief Growth and Development Officer at Platform Housing Group and one of the riders said: “We’re incredibly grateful to our main kit sponsors for their generosity and backing.  This event is about more than just the miles, it’s about standing up for children and supporting the work the NSPCC does to keep them safe.  Having the support of these organisations makes a huge difference.”

Jason Bowen, Director at Hardyman & Co Ltd said: “It’s a great cause and one of many we’re proud to support.  As a family run business, it means a lot to see our name on that jersey.  We’ve worked with Platform across maintenance contracts for more than two years and although no one from our team is riding – we are more car than cycle! – we’re proud to be involved. Wishing everyone a safe journey and lots of fun along the way.”

Matt Vardy, Managing Quantity Surveyor at Equans said: “Leaving a positive legacy in communities is a priority for Equans and this challenge is a fantastic way to do that.  Our retrofit work with Platform is already making a difference and we’re proud to build on that by sponsoring the NSPCC.  Everyone involved should be very proud!”

John Battersby, Managing Director at Sunfish Services said: “We’re proud to sponsor the ride and support a charity that works so hard to provide brighter futures for children.  Events like this show what’s possible when organisations share values and work together.  We’ll be cheering from the sidelines – wishing the team the very best of luck!”

Gabor Taller, Partner at Browne Jacobson LLP said: “I’m delighted Browne Jacobson can once again support the Platform charity bike ride.  This year four of our colleagues will also be taking part, alongside our sponsorship, as we cycle in support of the NSPCC.  It’s a brilliant cause and we’re proud to have supported the event every year since it began.”

Gratton Construction and Hickman Associates have also each pledged £500.  Trust Ford is also a sponsor.

Platform’s partnership with the NSPCC reflects its wider commitment to social responsibility and community impact.  Every £12.20 raised funds a potentially life saving call to the charity’s helpline.

Ensuring Fire Alarm Testing Compliance

Why is Fire Alarm Testing important? Adhering to UK fire alarm testing regulations such as those outlined in BS 5839-1 is a vital part of safeguarding lives and property. BS 5839-1 requires that over a twelve month period all automatic fire detectors and every manual call point are functionally tested. In the unfortunate event of […]
